The mud contains calcium, fluoride and magnesium, sulphate and chlorine. The high salt content of the lake contains a lot of iodine. People with rheumatic complaints and arthritis therefore visit these mud baths, The mud is also said to be medicinal for rehabilitation of fractures. Skin conditions are significantly reduced by the mud. People first smear themselves with mud and then let this mud dry in the sun to form a hard crust. The idea is to let the mud sit for at least an hour to dry. After that, people start playing in the salty water. The mud baths are completely free.
